Looking forward to curating The Sorting Room exhibition at Dorset Visual Arts fair in Dorchester at the weekend!!
The Sorting Room presents a random rotation of artists’ works, being installed and uninstalled at regular intervals throughout the show, allowing the viewer a momentary focussed experience with each piece. Only one work is shown at a time, with the remaining works left leant against the outside edge of the room, allowing the audience to question which is the more significant work being presented. The rapid exchange of artworks should result in a performance work in its own right, transforming the typically hidden curation process into something public. The prospect of seeing new works as they change, hopes to encourage multiple visits throughout the afternoon.
Private View on the evening of Friday 31st May and then it's open all weekend 10-5 on the 1st-2nd June. Fingers crossed for nice weather :)
I was involved in putting together an exhibition titled 'Exposed.' Taking over a vacant Argos building in Boscombe, we emptied, hoovered, cleaned, put up and painted walls and curating our own exhibition based around the human body. The opening night on Friday 27th April was a great success.
Above: me and my miniature penis paintings in the exhibition. Each piece measuring 5x9cm (size of the MDF...)
